[Media Feature] Shodo Artist SORA Featured on OPB (Oregon Public Broadcasting)

My work and artistic practice were featured by OPB (Oregon Public Broadcasting) on its arts program Oregon Art Beat. In the article published on January 8, 2026, “Portland Japanese calligraphy artist breaks traditional rules to create her own style,” OPB introduces my story of moving from Japan to Oregon and developing my own approach to expression.

The feature highlights how I create works inspired by nature while stepping beyond traditional calligraphy rules, as well as the meditative aspects of calligraphy and my connection to sumi ink culture as something that continues from ancient times into the present.
