Overview & Acceptance
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of this website (the “Site”) and any purchase made through the Site. The Site is operated by SORA Shodo (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms, as well as our Shipping Policy and Refund Policy (collectively, the “Policies”). If you do not agree, you may choose not to use the Site or place an order.
Eligibility
You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction (or have permission from a parent/guardian) to use this Site and place orders.
Products (Original Artworks & Prints)
We sell:
- Original artworks: one-of-a-kind calligraphy artworks made on natural paper.
- Prints: made-to-order items produced after purchase.
Because our artworks may involve natural materials and handmade processes, slight variations are normal and part of the artwork’s character.
Product Information & Accuracy
We make reasonable efforts to display product descriptions and images accurately. However:
- Colors may vary depending on your monitor/device settings.
- Natural paper and ink may show unique characteristics (texture, fiber, scent, aging, subtle variations).
Unless explicitly stated, product photos are for reference and may not represent an exact match in color or texture.
Pricing, Taxes, and Promotions
Prices are listed in USD unless otherwise noted. We may update prices from time to time.
Applicable taxes may be collected where required. Promotional offers, discount codes, and sales may have additional terms and may change over time.
Orders, Payment, and Order Confirmation
We accept major credit cards, PayPal, and other checkout options shown at checkout. Payment is required at the time of purchase.
After you place an order, you may receive an order confirmation email. This email does not guarantee acceptance of your order. We may refuse, cancel, or limit an order when reasonably necessary (for example, suspected fraud, pricing errors, inventory issues, or similar circumstances). If we cancel an order after payment, we will issue a refund to the original payment method.
Shipping & Delivery
Shipping, delivery, handling of delays, and (when available) tracking are governed by our Shipping Policy. Estimated timelines are not guaranteed. We may limit or refuse orders that cannot be shipped to the destinations we serve.
Risk of Loss
Risk of loss transfers to you upon delivery to the address provided at checkout (or upon confirmed delivery by the carrier, as applicable).
However, if the carrier confirms non-delivery or misdelivery (for example, delivered to the wrong address), we will work with you on an appropriate resolution in accordance with our Shipping Policy, Refund Policy, and applicable law.
If you experience a shipping issue, please contact us promptly so we can assist with carrier inquiries.
Returns & Refunds
Returns, refunds, and final-sale conditions are governed by our Refund Policy. Many items are final sale, with limited exceptions for defects, shipping damage, or incorrect items as described in that policy.
Cancellations
Cancellation eligibility (if any), including restrictions for made-to-order items and original artworks, is governed by our Refund Policy.
Intellectual Property (Copyright & Permitted Use)
All content on the Site—including artworks, calligraphy designs, images, product photos, text, logos, and brand identifiers—is owned by or licensed to SORA Shodo and is protected by intellectual property laws.
Purchasing a physical artwork or print does not transfer any copyright or other intellectual property rights.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, or use our content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.
Personal, non-commercial sharing (e.g., posting a photo of a purchased artwork on social media) is generally permitted, provided you do not claim authorship, remove watermarks, or use the content commercially.
User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for unlawful purposes;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems;
- Interfere with the Site’s security or operation;
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information;
- Infringe our intellectual property rights or the rights of others.
Third-Party Services and Links
The Site may rely on third-party services (e.g., payment processors, shipping carriers) and may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices.
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site, products, and services are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SORA Shodo will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, arising out of or related to your use of the Site or any purchase.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase will not exceed the amount you paid for the product(s) giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SORA Shodo from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your breach of these Terms, misuse of the Site, or violation of any law or third-party rights.
